The Park ‘Lands’ – Immersive Park Portal Pods
Winner of the People’s Choice Prize - 2018 Adelaide Park Lands Art Prize
Three distinct experiential Park Portal Pods designed to literally ‘land’ on passers-by. Exhibition visitors are invited to delve into the Pods to be transported from concrete city surrounds to the sublime; each park as complex and precious as every life form within it.
Tainmundilla – Botanic Park
Hear the lark of fruit bats, sense the languid fragrance of Moreton Bay fig trees and enjoy the shade from their leaves and the reading nooks amongst their roots. A welcome home, not only for reflection, but for celebration of the now.
Kurangga – Blue Gum Park
Breathe the invigorating warm scent of eucalyptus and soak up the vibrant sunlit colours of the open air to the cheerful song of Rosellas. Shedding bark beneath vivid blue skies continuously reveals glimpses of the bright fresh life ahead.
Walyu Yarta – Veale Gardens
Capture the refined aroma of the rose gardens on the open breeze as Wood Ducks frolic on shimmering waters encouraging you to let go of worldly worries. A colourful cup of tea for the soul.
The Pods echo the rich experience of our Park Lands – reminding us to reclaim the splendour of our natural habitat in an increasingly digital world.
